What is the role of the Trustee?

The Walter Mangold Trust Fund is administered by the Trustee (The CASS Foundation) strictly in accordance with the objectives and wishes of the benefactors, as stated in the Trust Deed.

Who should apply for a Study Abroad Scholarship?

Where should I go?

Honours and post-graduate students may also apply if they are enrolling in an accredited language tuition program overseas, but not to undertake independent research.

Travel may only be permitted or recommended to certain countries as deemed appropriate by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). This may be subject to change.

How long should the exchange be?

Scholarships are offered for placements of a minimum of 12 weeks and a maximum of 2 years.

What about post-graduate students?

Honours and post-graduate students may also apply if they are enrolling in an accredited language tuition program overseas, but not to undertake independent research.

What if I can't go?

We understand that sometimes things don’t go according to plan. The terms of the scholarship mean that you must use the funds to contribute to the Mangold approved study abroad or exchange program.

We might ask for a portion of the funds to be returned if you have already received a grant and left to start your studies but have been unable to complete your approved study program.  If your travel is cancelled, terminated, interrupted or delayed due to any circumstances (including COVID-19), we request that you notify us as soon as possible.
