About the online Application process

2019 Semester 1 - Walter Mangold Language Scholarships

The online Application portal is NOW OPEN

Applications CLOSE at 5.00pm (AEST) on Friday 26thOctober 2018.

When you reach the Application portal, you will need to register your details with a password and complete a short eligibility Quiz before proceeding to the Application Form questions.

The online Application Form asks you to:

  • provide details about your home university language courses, with subject codes
  • provide details about your proposed destination university and course selection.
  • give considered answers describing why you want to study abroad or on exchange; why you are interested in the particular language and culture; and what benefits you hope to gain from the experience of living and studying overseas.
  • complete a budget template of your estimated travel costs and living expenses.
  • arrange for a Letter of Endorsement (*see below) from a current lecturer or tutor attesting to your language capability and potential to benefit from an exchange or study abroad program.

  • nominate 2 other personal Referees who (if you are shortlisted) will be contacted and asked about your character and interests.

As you work your way through the Application Form you can SAVE the document and return to complete it later, using your password to log-in.

When all steps are completed, you need to press the ‘SUBMIT’ button at the end of the form.

If you have lodged your form successfully, you will receive an automated email acknowledging this. Check that you receive an acknowledgement email and if not, please re-SUBMIT your application.

Applicants who wish to organise the required academic Letter of Endorsement (LoE) may download an information page with the 4 topic headings and forward it to their language lecturer or tutor.
